Oralkhan Bokey’s stories’ poetics

Oralkhan Bokey is one of the prolific and difficult to understand authors of modern Kazakh literature. Poetic structure of his works differs specific sophistication, which is determined by connecting of unique and rich culture with worldwide literary experience.

The common meaning of Bokey’s plots is in the importance of keeping continuity of modern nation life and moral ethical values of the past. From the point of the author these are values because they can immanently renew and update in moral searches of people in difficult life situations.

The main role in poetic works of Oralkhan Bokey belongs to figurative representation of different types of men consciousness. Because of ideal assembler of archetypes can be parable-mythological structures, Oralkhan Bokey shows his characters in atmosphere of national culture with its traditions, rituals, legends and stories. The deeper and more many-sided connection of creation’s subject with material and moral signs of the historical past, then more and richer modern idea of the goal and humans existing depicts in the form of lyrical character.

Bokey’s man is not free. He is limited in trade and activity by many worries as filial affection to his nation, and he is free while he can combine the past and the future in his life experience. The motive of characters’ responsibility for the consequences  of private chose in lives on whole nation and Motherland introduces the accent in idealogical solution of generations problem.

The way of confession becomes the key to the search of new knowledge about the world, which are hidden in the previous experience of the each man’s life.  The confession os lyrical character, which expresses the author’s  ideas, is filled with secret connection between thoughts and feelings with childhood memories.

Gorgeous Altay’s nature, where he spent his youth, full of legends, historical stories and myths, provoked his childish impression with non-randomness and predestination, people, who surrounded him, close or not, showed an eternal hearth of nobility and honor, which inherited from ancestry and kept by grandfathers and fathers in the years fo revolution, – all of these are the sources of spiritual orientators, which are the base of unity of world outlook and confidence in the following day of the main character. Awakening in hero’s conscience  is like a way to show a positive relation of the author to the heathen outlook of Kazakh ancestry about the city of nature and man.

The main character lives in history, he understands a not ended yet difficulties, examination man on humanity, which had begun with the revolution. Spiritual revolution of the character is the process of overcoming of a social history as the form of consciousness and creating new historical view. It is spoken about the role of the man, when he compares his choose with always principals of balance between animate and inanimate in the nature and in space, refusing the claims to anthropocentrism. Here true social swirls of the XX-th century could be seen. The are connected with willing refusal of the people from continuing human race on the principe of every person’s uniqueness. As a result of painful, but strengthening trust in the soul, which became possible due to coming back on the Motherland and reconstruction of the dream, lyric character finds out such qualities as faithfulness to the memory, following the call of blood, and it lets him to feel himself the eternal part of being.

The synthesis of the reality and legend is shown in another one story of O.Bokey «Snezhnaya devushka», a plot of which is made of two lines: lost in the mountains state farm stayed without provision for cattle and the head must send three boys to take the hay prepared in summer; Nurzhan, who lives with expectation of something mysterious, met in the dream and in reality Snow girl and talked to her, her attendance felt his companions – Bakhytzhan and Amanzhan.

The story about snow girl emphasizes the reader’s attention on the writer’s thoughts through character’s mood.

Snow girl is the symbol of moral vigilance, readiness to overcome human instincts, to protect moral values.  Ability to answer the call of Snow girl measured the level of humanity and noble soul potential.  That is why exactly Nurzhan was always threaten with girl’s call, Bakhytzhan heard her only in hard conditions, Animzhan was deaf to her. Поэтому именно Snow girl’s model is an antithesis to Konkay, which is the symbol of evil and violence.

Lyricism on O.Bokey’s stories facilitates to connecting of subjective moral experience with society’s desire. Real conditions, which urges characters to action or conscious judge on themselves and other, goes to another spiritual reality, where myth, memory and other metaphysical abstracts shape modern men’s existence. Subjective imagery ideally connects elements of culture and mode of life, widening the abilities of literary cognition of modern man.
